Shelor Motor Mile to award $50,000 to high schools in talent-show competition
Shelor Motor Mile is excited to host a local talent competition for high school students and award schools and students close to $50,000 in prize money. The Growing the Future Talent Show will be held Oct. 20 at Christiansburg High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Two representatives from each local high school in the New River Valley will compete to win the grand prize of $2,500 and $20,000 for their school. Each local high school will hold a talent show at their school and select two representatives to move on to the finale show.
David Hagan, co-owner of Shelor Motor Mile, says, “This local talent event is an investment in our local schools and the students plus it should be fun and build community spirit for the high schools.” Only one high school has chosen not to participate, Eastern Montgomery. Ironically, David Hagan graduated from this high school, formerly Shawsville High.
