Election season has concluded in fourth grade!

We were studying presidential elections this year, and we learned about it firsthand by running an elementary snack election for the elementary school. We nominated our candidates in the primaries (for the Sweet Party: Oreos and Apple Juice and the Salty Party: Pretzels and Popcorn) and headed out on the campaign trail. We made campaign posters, gave persuasive campaign speeches, issued voter registration cards to our elementary voters, and ran the polls on Election Day.

Once we counted the electoral votes for each classroom, the winning ticket was announced – Oreo for president and Apple Juice for vice-president from the Sweet Party! We look forward to sharing our sweet snack with all those who came to vote with us on Nov. 6.
