Shelor Motor Mile presents $10,000 talent-show prize to Pulaski County High School

Shelor Motor Mile presented Pulaski County High School $10,000 at their senior night football game against Salem on Friday, Nov. 2. Pulaski won the second-place prize of $10,000 from the 2012 Growing the Future Talent Show. Moriah Hinton, a ninth-grader from Pulaski County High School, proudly represented her school singing “I Wonder” by Kellie Pickler and winning $1,500 for her performance.

“I want to thank Shelor for all they did to make the Growing the Future Talent Show such a success. It was an awesome experience and very positive for all of the students that participated. I enjoyed my experiences as a judge. I especially want to thank Shelor Motor Mile for the contributions to the community monetarily and in so many other ways. We appreciate the large donation that Moriah won. We will use this to help out our school and students,” said Jeff McCoy, director of theatre arts at Pulaski County High School.

“Quadratonix” made up of Caleb Caldwell, Leah Piemonte, Jessica Watson and Luke Williams, of Christiansburg High School took first place, winning $2,500 and $20,000 for their school, while Radford High School won $5,000 and Sara Davis $1,000 for her third-place finish. Megan Carlier won $500 and $2,500 for Blacksburg High School for fourth.

More than $50,000 in cash prizes was distributed from Shelor Motor Mile at the event.
