BLACKSBURG – Blacksburg High School sophomore Megan Carlier finished in fourth place at Shelor Motor Mile’s “Growing the Future Talent Show” last month and earned her school $2,500.

On Tuesday, Shelor’s Blair Hoke presented the school with the check during an assembly.

At the talent show, Carlier played “Julie-O” by Mark Summer on the cello. Christiansburg High’s Quadratonix took first place and $20,000 with their performance “Pop Smash-Up.”

Blacksburg Mayor Ron Rordam was in attendance and told students he always feels good about the future after visiting the high school.
