BLACKSBURG — Republican U.S. Rep. Morgan Griffith, who represents the 9th District, visited with Blacksburg High School seniors Monday morning and held a question-and-answer session for about an hour.
More than 200 students filled the school’s auditorium, eager to ask Griffith a variety of questions.
The students’ questions sparked discussions on issues such as abortion, hemp farms and same-sex marriage.
One-by-one, students asked Griffith informed questions about recent bills and events in Congress that have directly affected the commonwealth of Virginia.
After the assembly, Griffith met with seniors Tyler Bankhead, Nick Elvinger and Joel Hunter, who were congressionally nominated by Griffith to the United States Naval Academy.
