New River Valley golf pro records pair of double eagles
When South African Louis Oosthuizen holed out from 260 yards on the par-5 second hole of Sunday’s final round of the Masters, the feat unquestionably marked the first time that millions of golf fans ever had witnessed a rare double eagle.
Meanwhile, John Norton could only throw up his hands and laugh. No big deal for this guy. After all, the head professional and general manager of the Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech had just made two double eagles in a recent eight-day span on his home course.
