Some Hokies gaining ground in spring practice

BLACKSBURG – With only a week of spring practice remaining and the Hokies’ second open scrimmage in the books, head coach Frank Beamer is beginning to see some separation between the players who will get on the field for the opener against Georgia Tech and those who won’t.
The Hokies had a number of big plays on both sides of the ball during an 85-play scrimmage Saturday that started with situational work in the red zone before the sides played for two quarters.
