Former Hokies’ hurdlers advance
EUGENE, ORE. — Former Virginia Tech standouts Queen Harrison and Kristi Castlin advanced from the prelims to the semifinals in the 100-meter hurdles Friday night at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials.
Castlin finished third in her heat, and 13th overall in the 32-woman field, with a time of 12.98 seconds.
Harrison was third in her heat and 14th overall with a time that also rounded off to 12.98. Harrison made the 2008 Olympics in the 400 hurdles and hopes to make it this time in both hurdles events.
