Virginia Tech coaches deciding among a crowded backfield

For the first few days of practice, Virginia Tech has taken a look at all of its running backs, trying to figure out who can contribute this year.
The pecking order to begin August practice remains the same as last spring. Redshirt freshman Michael Holmes remains the lead candidate to replace David Wilson, but the Hokies want a couple of backs they can trust to carry the load.
