From persona non grata to second-chance standout.

Cody Journell did not play in the Sugar Bowl because of a suspension. He had missed his first field goal attempt in the season opener Monday.

But the Giles graduate received one of the game balls after kicking the tying and winning field goals in Virginia Tech’s 20-17 overtime victory over Georgia Tech.
