Tonight’s football forecast: Another warm night for football
It’s week three for high school football tonight. Here’s who’s playing where:
* Blacksburg at Tazewell
* Carroll County at Christiansburg
* Craig County at Narrows
* East Hardy, W.Va. at Auburn
* Galax at Eastern Montgomery
* George Wythe at Radford
* Giles at Covington
* Patrick County at Floyd County
* Pulaski County at Patrick Henry
Weather journalist Kevin Myatt offers this forecast:
Very similar to last Friday night. Afternoon highs will peak in the upper 80s to low 90s, and gradually fall through the sticky 80s through game time, possibly into the mid and upper 70s by the end of the games in the New River Valley. Showers will be very isolated, if they occur at all, and likely any that do occur will be well before game time. Most to all high school football sites will stay dry Friday, with clear to partly cloudy skies, but it will be more late summer than early fall.
We’re expecting photos from many of these games, so check back for those — or share your own at news@theburgs.com, or use the share tool to upload 10 at a time.
Last week, we had photos from Blacksburg-Liberty from Wendell Jones, Eastern Montgomery-Narrows from Jon Fleming and, Christiansburg-Giles from Jeannine Cooper and Matt Gentry of The Roanoke Times.
