Taylor Jennings from Blacksburg, who is a Radford University graduate, participated in the Patriots Half Ironman in Williamsburg last weekend.
He finished third overall with a time of 4:46:25.
Taylor also won his age group in a race in Michigan three weeks ago to qualify for the World Championships, which will be held in Las Vegas next September.
