Big plays propel Patrick Henry to victory over Blacksburg
Playing a nondistrict game, Patrick Henry coach Alan Fiddler used Friday’s visit to Blacksburg as an opportunity to work on some aspects of the Patriots’ offense. Some of it worked and some didn’t, but PH produced more than enough big plays to win comfortably.
The Patriots got a 99-yard scoring kickoff return from Rasheed Whorley, a pick-six from Demetris Anderson, and assorted feats of athleticism from a talented lineup to turn back the host Bruins 35-13.
The outgunned Bruins (1-3) kept plugging after falling behind by three touchdowns and played PH to a virtual draw in the second half.
