September letdown isn’t new for Hokies

There was a palpable disappointment among Virginia Tech fans this week after the Pittsburgh loss, one that occurs on almost a yearly basis.
The Hokies have lost a game in September of seven of the nine years since they’ve joined the ACC, often — like last Saturday — against teams they were favored to beat.
