Christiansburg boys take first, girls second at Disney cross country meet

Zach Chase’s first-place individual finish paced the Blue Demons boys team which took first-place honors in the 2A race on Saturday at the 17th-annual Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic in Orlando, Fla.
Chase’s winning time was 16:47.37, while teammates Matt Spurlock and Neal Eaton also took medals in the event. Spurlock finished fifth with a time of 17:33.61 and Eaton ninth at 17:52.09.
The Christiansburg girls’ team notched a second-place finish in their race. Allison Sherman leading the team with a fifth-place finish at 20:46.59 and Mikayla Richardson following in sixth at 20:51.98.
