Virginia Tech’s redshirt freshman receiver Demitri Knowles plays ahead of the curve

The weather was warm and a little humid in Chapel Hill, N.C., last week, so Virginia Tech wide receiver Demitri Knowles, a native of The Bahamas, said he felt right at home.
“I had a feeling he was about to have a good game,” running backs and kick return coach Shane Beamer said.
He proved to be prescient. Knowles, a redshirt freshman, had his best game to date, returning a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown and filling in for a concussed Dyrell Roberts to catch six passes for a career-high 83 yards in Virginia Tech’s 48-34 loss.
