Cave Spring pulls off last-minute win

A sense of uneasiness came over Connor Baker as he was being crowned Cave Spring homecoming king during halftime ceremonies Friday night at Dwight Bogle Stadium.

“I was saying to myself, ‘It isn’t going to mean a whole lot if we don’t win this football game,” said Baker, the Knights’ senior quarterback.

Cave Spring had some tense moments, which has been the story of its season, but a 1-yard touchdown run by James Jackson with 19.7 seconds remaining lifted the Knights past Blacksburg 21-14.
