No. 13 Virginia Tech kicks off season with tourney in Salem
The Virginia Tech wrestling team will open its season by hosting the Hokie Open at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Salem Civic Center.
In addition to the Hokies, the field will include VMI, Air Force, Indiana, North Carolina, Duke, Chattanooga, Ohio University, Appalachian State, The Citadel, Newberry and King College, as well as some individuals from Virginia, Washington and Lee and George Mason.
“Every weight class is going to have kids that are ranked in the top 20 in the nation.” Tech coach Kevin Dresser said.
