Photos: Blacksburg boys’ cross country places 10th at Nike Nationals XC

The Blacksburg High School boys’ cross country team placed 10th at the Nike Nationals XC on Dec. 1 in Portland, Ore., in the highest-ever finish by a boys’ team from Virginia.
The meet featured 22 of the nation’s top cross country teams, which qualified for the race at regional events around the country.
Senior Nick Link, the VHSL Group AA state champion, finished 11th overall with a time of 17:34. Link also was named 2nd Team All American. Blacksburg’s four other scoring runners were Noah Combs, who was 71st, Matt Pasier (83rd), Matt Borny (107th) and Kenneth Hagen (133rd).
Luke Phillips (170th) and Nick Wilson (187th) rounded out the Blacksburg squad.
