Notes: This game was originally scheduled for tonight but was moved to the afternoon so it would not conflict with the Tech football team’s bowl game tonight. … For the past 14 years, Tech hosted a four-team tournament in late December. The event had various names, most recently the Hilton Garden Hokie Classic. But there is no tournament this year. Coach Dennis Wolff said it was easier logistically to not have a tournament. But Tech will still have two home games this weekend; Hampton will visit Sunday. … Today will mark the first time Tech has faced the Aggies of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. … The Aggies are coming off an 85-78 win over William and Mary last Friday. They have also beaten Liberty (60-56) this season. They have lost by double digits to Nebraska, Nebraska-Omaha, Richmond and Charlotte.
