Tech women rally to beat Hampton
BLACKSBURG – Monet Tellier scored 14 points all in the second half to lead the Virginia Tech women to victory over Hampton 55-45 on Sunday at Cassell Coliseum.
Alyssa Fenyan had 11 points and Lauren Evans added nine for the Hokies (7-5), who trailed 17-10 at halftime.
Tellier did not start and did not enter the game until the 7:42 mark of the first half.
Junior college transfer Uju Ugoka, who starred in Tech’s past two games since gaining eligibility, did not play.
Keiara Avant scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Nicole Hamilton scored 17 points for the Pirates (9-5).
