CHRISTIANSBURG – Michael Ayares scored 24 points, and Brandon Walters added 19 for the Bruins, who set up a winner-take-all showdown with Salem on Thursday by topping the Blue Demons, 66-58.
Kaleb Bohrnstedt added 14 points for Blacksburg, which will play at Salem for the River Ridge District title.
Joey Augustin had 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals for Christiansburg. Tanner Cayton added 11.
The Bruins’ girls basketball team also defeated the Blue Demons, 47-41.
