June 17, 2008Community pet show this SundayThe brave folks at Blue Ridge Vineyards invite folks to bring their dogs, cats, puppies and kittens for a community pet show this Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. And you can sip some Botetourt County wine while you are there. 
Competitions scheduled for the show include: cutest puppy or kitten, pet parent/pet look-a-like, most unusual dog or cat, most vocal pet, best costumes, most patient (not sure if that means the pet or the parent) and most Frisbee catches. There will also be rally/obedience and agility events. The first event costs $5 to enter; additional events are $2 each. And a five-spot will get you a souvenir glass for wine tasting. Leashes and vaccine records are required for pets; I am sure valid identification is required for the wine tasters as well. The vineyard is located at 1027 Shiloh Drive in Eagle Rock.
