September 6, 2008Downright weird, but kind of coolBlog entry by Heather Froeschl. This is Mooch. He is a “new” breed: a snowshoe. It is a cross between Siamese and American shorthairs. Purebreds have typical Siamese markings but stark white feet. Mooch is not a high class purebred, but a mix of Snowshoe and Calico. He has distinct random markings, not quite symmetrical, yet reminiscent of the Siamese coloring. Snowshoes also have distinct behaviors. They typically will love to play fetch, are fascinated with water, and often behave like dogs, following their humans around the house. Mooch exhibits all of the above. He is fierce in his play and very interested in the world around him. The second picture shows what Mooch loves to do most, besides eating (his name is Mooch with good cause). When the shower or bath water starts running, so does he. And he will sit there for as long as the water is on or dripping, as if entranced. I thought that strange enough, although I have personally have had cats who sleep in the bathroom sink, just waiting for it to drip. Here, however, is a cat that takes it to a “whole ‘nother level.” Cats are certainly entertaining. While most felines wouldn’t appreciate the creature comforts of a nice warm bath, cats are always creatures of comfort to me. |

Ed S.Cats are great. A friend of my wife has a cat (not sure what kind, but at least part maine coon) that she saved as a kitten from the local fitness center parking lot. She's a great kitty, and *loves* to play under doors. If she hears you in the next room, she'll let out a chirp and start sticking her paws under the door.
I love the picture of the cat under the tub faucet!

Amy Hanek : →http://www.houseonthegladehill.blogspot.comIt always amazes me how cats can be so curious when it comes to water, yet so fearful of getting wet.
Mooch IS a very good-lookin' cat.
