The Happy Wag

Gone Hollywood

My husband and I are in Los Angeles this week — he has to attend a conference for work and I can’t let him get this close to the Pacific Ocean without me. The  dogs are at Peaceful Haven, Thai is staying with our daughter. A vacation for the whole family.

That doesn’t mean I still can’t find pet-related tidbits to share with you.

Here in the entertainment capitol of the world, there is of course a lot of news about movies. This morning my husband and I saw a promo spot for the upcoming movie “Puss In Boots”  featuring the gallant feline swashbuckler from the “Shrek” series of films.

And we had this conversation as we watched the cartoon cat in action scenes from the animated film:

Husband: “I heard that the producers used real cats…” *

Me: “Yes, and it was really difficult to get them to wear those little hats. With feathers, no less.”

Husband: “No, I meant…”*

Me: “Not to mention teaching them to ride horses. Tabbies hate horses. And the sword fight scenes were a real challenge since cats only have four digits and no opposable thumbs.”

Husband: “I am not talking to you for the rest of the week.”

*I knew he meant they used real cats as models for the animators to inspire authentic feline movement. I just like being a jerk. I don’t know why he stays married to me, really. It’s going to be a quiet week for me in California. I may write a lot of blog entries just to have someone to talk to.

  3. You tickle me!!! I want to see the Puss in Boots movie – from the previews it looks pretty good. How can you go wrong with an orange tabby kitty? (My weakness!)
