Recovery update

Hey blog readers:

I just wanted to write a quick post to let you know I had my knee replacement surgery a week ago Monday, came home a week ago today, and recovery is going very well.

I give a huge amount of credit to my very supportive family — my husband and my daughter — for taking good care of me. I also deeply appreciate my co-workers and friends for sending love, good wishes and delicious food.

And of course it’s been a great comfort to have my pets.

Thai, for example, assists the physical therapist that comes to the house by rubbing against her bag. He helps me by riding along in the basket on my walker and provides extra resistance when he climbs on my legs while I do lifts.

The dogs seem to know to avoid the bum knee and are always careful when they cuddle. Just having a soft muzzle of a pooch laying on my shoulder lifts my spirit.

And of course, watching them play makes me happy.

I hope to get back into a more regular schedule of blog posts next week. Until then, I hope you all are doing well, loving your pets and enjoying the summer.

Glad to hear all is going well. Furbabies can be great nurses when you aren’t up to par. They also give you a reason to get up and get moving when you really don’t want to.
