A sweet boy in need of help
This is Mack. He once lived with a family in Campbell County, but unfortunately he was hit by a car, and his family could not afford his medical care.
They signed him over to the Campbell County pound, where the sweet-natured pooch proceeded to steal the hearts of the members Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. Despite agonizing pain from his torn ligaments and dislocated hip, Mack, a 65-pound, 3-year-old shepherd-border collie mix, is a great dog.
Concerned folks in Campbell County took to Facebook seeking help for Mack, and the volunteers at Angels of Assisi stepped up.
“He’s very gentle and affectionate,” said Jess Kraybill, a spokeswoman for Angels of Assisi.
Mack is now in a Roanoke-area foster home, recovering from knee surgery and awaiting a much-needed surgery to fix his hip. His medical costs could exceed $3,000, and Angels is seeking donations to help Mack’s cause.
Once he’s properly healed from all his injuries, he will be eligible for adoption.

My goodness, look at that adorable face. I hope he finds a new forever home with a nice family!
