A visit with Santa Paws

I kind of cringed when I typed the title of this blog entry. I can’t believe the holidays are almost upon us — Thanksgiving is less than a week away.

Why is 2012 in such a big hurry to fade into history?

But yes indeed, it’s that most wonderful time of the year: the season when you can take your pet for a photo with Santa.

Tanglewood Mall will welcome furry four-leggers to meow or woof their holiday wishes to the jolly old elf at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Dec. 2.  The notice on the mall’s Facebook page stresses that Santa will only be entertaining domestic pets.  So  ponies, pigs and pumas will just have to mail a letter to the North Pole.

While it’s not included on the Facebook post, I am pretty sure it goes without saying that your pet should be on a leash or in a carrier for everyone’s safety.

If that time doesn’t work for you, PetSmart here in Roanoke and the NRV will no doubt have more opportunties for your critter to cuddle with Kris Kringle. As soon as I get those times and know what local rescue groups will be hosting, I will be sure to post it here.

Something I always wanted to do is have my dogs picture taken with Santa Paws. lol Let’s see if I can remember it this year.
Well it’s dog now though. I lost one a week ago today. I know what Maggie would ask Santa Paws for. A new friend. :)
