I took Stormy to the vet on Friday and I learned a few things before we even saw the vet:
- Stormy has terrible leash manners
- Since I’ve lost a significant amount of weight, he can pull me right off my feet
- Since I have improved my upper body strength, he never pulled the leash out of my hand
Working on his leash manners (and hitting the gym more often to concentrate on weight training) are now on our agenda for fall.
The vet had a hard time getting a good look at Stormy’s eyes, mostly because Stormy doesn’t like anything the vet wants to do to him. But the vet did finally get enough of a glimpse to eliminate injury as the cause of the gooey rivers gushing from Stormy’s eyes and decided my dog was suffering from seasonal allergies, perhaps brought on by a recent stay in our favorite kennel, which is nestled near the Jefferson Forest.
We went home with some eye drops. I wish I could tell you what kind of drops we have, but I tossed the receipt and as you can see, Stormy gnawed off the label in his attempt to make this bottle go away.
He certainly doesn’t like having the drops applied three times daily, but it’s doing a good job of clearing the mucus from his eyes.
