Longwood University to announce new president
Longwood University will announce their new president on March 2. Here is a press release from the university:
Almost one year to the date when Longwood president Patricia Cormier announced her retirement plans, the university will announce her successor on Tuesday, March 2 at 3:30 p.m. in the Blackwell Ballroom. In March of last year, the Longwood University Board of Visitors appointed a Presidential Search and Screening Advisory Committee to conduct a nationwide search for Longwood’s 25th president.
Longwood worked with the consulting firm Academic Search Inc. in conducting the search, which attracted a record-breaking 124 applicants for the position. The search was narrowed down to nine highly qualified candidates and then narrowed further to a final four candidates who visited the campus in February.
