Carmeuse Lime & Stone in Buchanan has made a $2,500 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Virginia during the company’s 150th anniversary. Here is a press release from Carmeuse:

The Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Virginia was delighted to receive a $2500 donation from the Carmeuse James River Operation in Buchanan, Virginia as part of the continued “Carmeuse Foundation” program.

Steve Powell, Area Operations Manager for Carmeuse’s James River Operation, presented the $2500 check to representatives of the Boys & Girl’s Club during an August celebration for Carmeuse’s 150 year anniversary.

More than 750 boys and girls, ages 5-18 participate in the Club. The funds from the Carmeuse donation will be used to help children improve their grades, as well as their self esteem while providing them with a club environment that is warm, comfortable, and safe.
