AREVA kicks off United Way campaign

AREVA, a global power company with an office in Lynchburg,  has kicked off its United Way Campaign for this year. The company has been the largest corporate donor to United Way of Central Virginia since 2007. Here is a press release from the United Way:

AREVA is launching its 2011 United Way campaign today, in its largest North American office in Lynchburg and in other offices throughout the country.

“Giving back to our communities is one of the most rewarding activities we can do,” said AREVA Inc. Chief Operating Officer Mike Rencheck. “And it is something we at AREVA sincerely value.”

AREVA has been the largest corporate donor to United Way of Central Virginia since 2007. The company’s employees, with AREVA’s corporate gift, raised over $345,000 for United Way last year to fund local programs focused on education, income and health that met 85,006 requests for assistance in Central Virginia. To address the rising critical human needs in the community, AREVA is increasing its 2011 United Way campaign goal to more than $ 350,000.

AREVA and its employees enjoy and value a long standing tradition of investing in the communities where they work and live by making positive and lasting contributions. They participate in and support activities that improve the quality of life for people in the communities where they operate because they realize the value to the health and economic viability of the community and its citizens.
