The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge announced the recipients of the Perry F. Kendig Award for Outstanding Support of the arts for 2012. Winners of the 2012 Perry F. Kendig will be: Forrest Landon, Outstanding Individual; Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University, Outstanding Arts & Cultural Organization; ITT, Outstanding Business; Roanoke Valley Reads, Outstanding Arts Education Program; Nathan Harper, Outstanding Young Professional; and Exclamations, Outstanding Emerging Arts Organization. Artist awards winners are: David Lipps, Outstanding Performing Artist; Ann Glover, Outstanding Visual Artist; and Richard Dillard, Outstanding Literary Artists.

Roanoke, VA: The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Perry F. Kendig Award for Outstanding Support of the Arts.
The 2012 Perry F. Kendig recipients will be:

• Exclamations will receive the award for Outstanding Emerging Arts Organization
Artist awards will be presented to:

• Ann Glover, Outstanding Visual Artist
• Richard Dillard, Outstanding Literary Artists.
A Lifetime Achievement award will be presented posthumously to local artist Sandi D’Alessandro. Sandi, a local art teacher for 36 years, impacted our community with her work as an artist and through her dedication to her students.
The Perry F. Kendig Award, named for the late Roanoke Valley arts patron and a former president of Roanoke College, was established in 1985 to recognize examples of support, involvement, accomplishment in the arts, and to inform the community about significant contributions to the arts in our region.
The Perry F. Kendig awards are chosen by a committee of community volunteers based on nominations from the general public. A reception and award ceremony will be held at the Taubman Museum of Art on May 02, 2011. For information on tickets please call 540.342.5790.
