White Sulphur Springs, WV – April 16, 2012: West Virginia’s legendary Greenbrier Resort has forged an unprecedented gathering of influential women for its inaugural 2012 Women in Leadership Conference. In keeping with the theme “Be Inspired, Innovate, Ignite your Ideas”, keynote speaker Martha Stewart will head the April 29-May 2 conference along with some of the most powerful women in America including CEOs, journalists and celebrities.
“We are honored that this group of hugely successful women has agreed to participate and we plan to make it an annual event”, says Jeffrey Kmiec, President and Managing Director of The Greenbrier.
The 3-day conference is the first in The Greenbrier’s series of “Businesswise” conferences and will feature presentations by CNN Anchor, Kyra Phillips; Best Selling Author, Cathie Black; National ABC News Correspondent, Ann Compton; WV Congresswoman, Shelly Moore; DC Police Chief, Cathy Lanier; and Essence Editor-at-Large, Mikki Taylor. Discussion topics, lectures and breakout sessions will cover a range of topics including how to build a brand through social media and new business development.
The Greenbrier plans to produce the resort’s own series of executive level business-to-business conferences designed to attract thousands of global decision makers to the hotel each year as speakers, delegates, sponsors and exhibitors. While conferences held at hotels are not unusual, the Greenbrier is the world’s only hotel to initiate, plan and organize such gatherings. 10 executive conferences are planned for 2012.
