Local builders EarthCraft certification program slated for May 31
Contractors have an opportunity May 31 to get information on building EarthCraft certified houses. The EarthCraft program will take place at Washington and Lee University in Lexington at 9 a.m. Attendees will gain knowledge on sustainable construction and getting started in the green building sector. Lexington VA ¬– Training targeted to local contractors interested in building EarthCraft certified houses will be offered on May 31 in Lexington. The program will be held at 9 am in the Meeting Room of the Washington & Lee University Old Courthouse building at the corner of South Main and Washington Streets. New homes in the Thompson’s Knoll neighborhood will all be built to the EarthCraft standards.
The one day training program will provide a comprehensive overview of best practices for sustainable construction and design, and explore ways that the EarthCraft program can help builders get started in the green building sector. The training program organized by Daisy Massey of EarthCraft Virginia and is open to all who wish to attend.
Local builders will learn techniques for building high performance homes as well as cost-effective ways to improve home energy efficiency, indoor air quality, comfort and durability while enhancing the overall appeal of a new home to their customers. The cost of the program is $175.00
