Here is the press release from Abingdon Health and Rehab.
Abingdon, Va – Commonwealth Care of Roanoke (CCR), in partnership with Smith/Packett of Roanoke, proudly announces Abingdon Health and Rehab Center (AHRC) will soon open its doors, becoming the region’s premiere choice in health and rehab.
Will Holmes, Smith/Packett’s Senior VP of Development and Construction said, “We are excited to be partnering with CCR opening the first phase of this senior housing campus. The skilled nursing facility is the initial phase and we look forward to developing additional levels of care for the campus once we achieve stabilization in the first phase. We expect completion will take a couple of years”.
An open house is planned for later this summer and will be advertised through all media outlets.
Richie Alba, Administrator at AHRC, said he and his staff are busy applying the final touches and completing requirements for regulatory agencies to be ready for opening day which is anticipated around the end of June. “We are putting something very special together for this region. We are not only challenging the status quo, we will be changing lives here,” said Alba. Administration has focused on training new staff in service excellence and true patient and resident centered care. Though the center will be brand new, state of the art in its design and equipment, Alba’s team has over 100 years of combined experience in the health and rehab profession. The AHRC has also partnered with one of the nation’s leading rehab service provider to offer the highest level of physical, occupational and speech therapy.
Abingdon Health and Rehab is the twelfth center for CCR. Opening in late June, AHRC will provide specialized short term skilled nursing and rehabilitation, long term and memory care.
