DePaul Community Resources seeks Women of Achievement Award nominations
Applications are being accepted for the 2012 Women of Achievement Awards. DePaul Community Resources will accept nominations from the Roanoke, New River Valley and Lynchburg areas until Aug. 1. The awards recognize outstanding women who have made significant contributions to their communities. Nomination forms can be found at www.depaulcr.org.

ROANOKE, Va. (June 20, 2012) DePaul Community Resources is accepting nominations for the 2012 Women of Achievement Awards to recognize outstanding women of the Roanoke Valley, New River Valley, and Lynchburg area who have made significant contributions to the community through career, leadership and volunteer activities. Award winners and nominees will be honored at a ceremony to be held October 2, 2012 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheraton Roanoke Hotel and Conference Center.
“We are extremely privileged and excited to recognize women whose achievements have impacted the lives of residents in our region,” says Sue Bentley, Executive Director of DePaul Community Resources. “This year marks the 10th annual recognition luncheon, first started by the YWCA in 2003.”
Nominations may be submitted by individuals, companies or organizations. Nominees may be nominated in one of twelve categories:
• Arts
• Business
• Education
• Equality
• Foster Parenting
• Government/Politics
• Health/Science
• Human Relations
• Law
• Religion
• Social Services
• Volunteerism
Nomination forms can be downloaded at www.depaulcr.org and must be completed and returned by Wednesday, August 1 by mail to 5650 Hollins Road, Roanoke, VA 24019, fax to 540-265-7663 or email to woa@depaulcr.org. Forms are also available by calling DePaul Community Resources at 540-265-8923.
Tickets for the Women of Achievement awards luncheon on October 2, 2012 are also available. Tickets, which include a sit-down lunch, are $45 for one, $40 for two or more, and $300 for a table of eight. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the luncheon.
