The Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study has named Carilion Clinic a most wired health care system. This is the ninth time that Carilion has made the most wired list. Hospitals are named to list for providing enhanced technology to increase the care patients receive at a facility.

ROANOKE, Va. (July 25, 2012) – Carilion Clinic has been selected as a 2012 “Most Wired” healthcare system according to the Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study. Hospitals are named to the list based on a detailed scoring process. The survey evaluated hospitals on four factors: infrastructure; business and administrative management; clinical quality and safety; and clinical integration.

The goal of the survey is to benchmark health system’s progress with information technology and as a result, creates a snapshot of the use of IT in U.S. hospitals. Hospitals & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association, has published the “Most Wired” list annually since 1998 and Carilion has been named to the list nine times.
