MB Contractors receives Silver Award for construction safety

MB Contractors Inc. was given the Silver Safety Award for Outstanding Safety Program in the General Contractors category from the Virginia Contractors Group Self Insurance Association. This is the company’s third time in four years that they have received a safety award from VACO.

Here is the press release from MB Contractors Inc.

Roanoke, Va., (November 5, 2012) — During its annual meeting last month, MB Contractors received the Silver Safety Award for Outstanding Safety Program in the General Contractors category from The Virginia Contractors Group Self Insurance Association—also known as VACO.  This is the third time in four years that MB Contractors has been recognized with their award, receiving Bronze in 2009 and Gold in 2011.

VACO presents their safety awards recognizing the highest level of safety at the general member meeting held each October.  Awards are based on the comprehensive safety program, loss ratios, and experience modification factors.

When asked about the significance of the award from the client perspective, co-owner and president of MB, Mr. Todd Morgan, responded that “Many clients like to hear about safety because it’s the right thing to do, but they might not realize it also helps lower their project costs because our strong safety record keeps our insurance premiums and overhead low.”
