Here is the press release from HomeTown Bank.

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (Dec. 11, 2012) – NewRiver Bank, a branch of HomeTown Bank, today broke ground on a new 9,000-square-foot branch in Christiansburg to meet the growing needs of its neighbors in the New River Valley.
“We wanted a branch that would allow us to grow with our customers in the New River Valley,” said Tommy Loflin, President of NewRiver Bank.  “Our new building will offer a more convenient, comfortable environment for NewRiver Bank customers.”

NewRiver Bank employs 11 people and serves more than 1,600 customers in the New River Valley, who appreciate the local, community bank experience.

“It is important to us that we support hometown businesses as we grow and expand,” said Susan Still, President and CEO of HomeTown Bank. “Our partners on this project are all based in southwest Virginia.”

J.M. Turner & Company General Contractors will build the branch based on a Gilliam Katz design and architecture by Rife & Wood Architects.  NewRiver Bank, which is currently located at 1540 Roanoke Street, will shift to its new location at 2950 Market Street in the late summer.

“The Town of Christiansburg is grateful to have committed neighbors like NewRiver Bank in this community,” said Christiansburg Mayor Richard Ballengee.  “We look forward to their continued success.”
