Here is the press release from Community Housing Partners.

Christiansburg, Va. — Community Housing Partners (CHP) is proud to announce that it has received the Diamond Diversity Award from the New River Valley Society for Human Resources Management (NRV SHRM) Board of Directors for exemplifying inclusive excellence in employee recruitment and retention strategies, programs and offerings, and contributions to making the New River Valley an attractive and inviting place to live and work.

“CHP is extremely honored to have been recognized for our dedication to diversity in employment practices.  We remain committed to creating a work environment where our employees know they are appreciated and respected for their unique skills and traits and feel free from discrimination,” said CHP Director of Human Resources Clay McCoy.  In addition to meeting or exceeding the company’s own Affirmative Action recruitment goals, CHP has also fostered partnerships with a variety of diverse organizations such as the NAACP for the purpose of sharing career opportunities.

“CHP recognizes that today’s workforce is a reflection of the considerable mix of cultures, ages, religions, and races that makes up America and that we and our clients benefit from an increased productivity, creativity, and loyalty that comes from this diversity,” added McCoy.

About the New River Valley Society for Human Resources Management
The New River Valley Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (NRV SHRM) is one of 500 chapters of national SHRM, the professional organization for human resources professionals. It is composed of over 120 professionals from Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Dublin, Floyd, Giles, Pulaski, and Radford and represents an array of New River Valley businesses, local governments, and universities.

All active NRV SHRM members were eligible for nomination for the award, which was established this year by NRV SHRM to provide members with the opportunity to showcase outstanding diversity and inclusion commitment and accomplishments in their organizations. The name “Diamond Diversity Award” was chosen to not only reference a diamond’s unique features, but also to recognize achievements in a company’s efforts to mine and secure the most precious, “diamond-quality” workforce.
