Student Business Concept Competition finalists announced

VT KnowledgeWorks has announced the student business concept finalists for the Tech Transfer Challenge. Finalists are:

•Better Greetings – David Henry, Adam Donato and Stephan Sabo
•Campus Tech – Evan Franco and Brendan Cerniglia
•Combined Sand Metal Printing – David Reeves
•NanoRiver Electronics Cooling System – Ravi Kappiyoor, Suvojit Ghosh, Chris Prohoda, Souvik Pal and Mehran Tehrani
•PureAir – Stephen Epstein
•TotaLi – Ken Atavatkul, Chris Kwaramba and Irene John

The Student Business Concept Competition is a featured event of the Fifth Annual VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Challenge on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

Virginia Tech student teams will compete in the Student Business Concept Competition for $10,000 in scholarships, start-up services, and the opportunity to compete on a world stage in August, 2013 for the $25,000 VT KnowledgeWorks Global Challenge Award during the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week.

Schedule of the day’s events:

8:30 – 9:00 a.m. Registration & Welcome Breakfast
9:00 – 9:15 a.m. Welcome Address
9:30 – 11:45 a.m. Tech Transfer Challenge
12:00 – 1:15 p.m. Lunch Buffet and Keynote Speaker
1:30 – 3:45 p.m. Student Business Concept Competition
4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Networking Reception and Awards Presentation

Cost to attend this full-day event including the competitions, luncheon, and reception is only $30 for students and $50 for non-students.  Register to attend the Entrepreneurship Challenge here.
