Balance Chiropractic and Wellness is organizing a school supply drive at the Kroger at 4488 Electric Road in Tanglewood Shopping Center. The drive will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia. Balance Chiropractic Team will be working at the school supply collection drive. On August 5, 2013 Balance Chiropractic started collecting school supplies in a 3 foot tall barrel in their offices at 3615 Franklin Road, Townside Festival Shopping Center.
School supplies collected at Kroger on August 29th and throughout the month of August will be matched by Balance Chiropractic and Wellness barrel for barrel in donations to be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Virginia. The items most needed: #2 pencils, markers, colored pencils, crayons, notebook paper, construction paper and computer paper.
The Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Virginia was started in 1997 and has an After School program in six Roanoke City school locations and two Montgomery County school locations. Laurie Gibbons of the Boys & Girls Club said, “These donated school supplies are vital to enable boys and girls to have the essential items they need to complete school assignments.”
In a recent survey of Boys & Girls Clubs of America alumni, 57% of those polled said that Boys & Girls Club saved their lives.
