I like to read the digital version of the mornings before I go to work; as the paper arrives about the time that I leave for work.
However, all too frequently, the digital version has not updated to the current days version, and still shows yesterdays version.
This morning is a fine example. It is 5:29 a.m. on Sunday morning and when I log in, Saturday’s paper is still showing.
When it works, the digital version is great. If not for the coupons and sale circulars, and the many times the current day version not online, I would go digital only.

The HTML5 version of the paper should work on your mobile device, including Apple products. As a subscriber you can access it through your browser at roanoketimes.com. We are working to move beyond Flash as quickly as we can.

I am an “out of stater,” and a future resident of ROA, at which time I will def be a subscriber. In the meantime, I would enjoy the option for an “online-only” subscription. I would be willing to pay a moderate amount for that.

I know it’s a volatile world – hang in there!

FLASH, you got to be kidding me! How retro 2000 of you. You might want to read a current news article about FLASH sometime. Mobile FLASH is no longer in development by Adobe and hasn’t been since 2011.

I see only one advantage to waiting and watching wheels sping and pages opening or not opening. I don’t have to go out on a rainy day to retrieve a soggy paper.
