Update: Event cancellations and changes
Roanoke’s grand Fourth of July celebration is on! Music for Americans features family fun, music and Fireworks on the Fourth, a spectacular fireworks show co-sponsored by Kroger, WDBJ7 and The Roanoke Times.
When: Thursday, July 4, 2013
Where: River’s Edge Sports Complex (located on the south side of the Roanoke River along Wiley Drive)
5 p.m.: Gates open for picnicking and pre-show activities, including food concessions
8 p.m.: Live concert with The Domino Band
9:30 p.m: Fireworks show
What to bring: Picnic baskets and lawn chairs are permitted. But NO pets, personal fireworks or grills.
Parking: There is no parking area at River’s Edge Sports Complex. Access to event is by foot or shuttle bus. Find shuttle details and more on our Music for Americans page.
What if it rains? There is no rain date for the concert, but in case of rain on July 4, the fireworks will be displayed at 9:30 p.m. on July 5, weather permitting.
