Back to School Blast
I was so impressed by the giving spirit of Roanokers participating in Sunday’s Back to School Blast school supply give away held at the Roanoke Civic Center. The kids, and their parents, were thankful and it was inspiring to see such good being done. –Sam Dean

Here is the video that I made of the pictures my son and I took last year, that is shown on the website. I would have been there this year if I didn’t have an event that I was shooting for a magazine that I help with, in Winchester that was scheduled months before they set the date for this…You are so correct about the giving spirit and the thankfulness of the children. I loved seeing that. It’s a very special event!

This is what community is all about, serving others. I wished that service projects like this could receive more publicity on the frontend so that more of the “haves” can help those that “need”. Great story Roanoke Times…lets move these to the front page and let the political stuff find its way to the back.
