Here in Sweet Chalybeate/ Sweet Springs it began at 11:00 a.m with heavy, very large flakes and covered ground in 10-15 minutes. The white pines are very lovely. It has continued since in a very steady fine snow and we have two inches upon the ground. All things are covered with white.

Here in Craig Co. north of New Castle the ground is covered w/snow with slush underneath. Light snow continuing to fall.

FAIRLAWN (adjacent to Radford)- Snow falling steadily, moderate amount. It started as a very impressive initial heavy burst of big wet flakes.

You know the snow is sticky when you have to wipe off your satellite dish to regain your TV signal. 2nd time I’ve had to do this in 11+ years. Snowing very hard here in Smyth.

Now snowing in Abingdon after an hour or so of mix. No accumulation currently but word from home in northeastern part of the county is that the pastures are white. Not sure how much we will get but I am sure it will be sloppy this pm.

That dry slot shouldn’t last for long. The radar should start filling in from SW to NE shortly as the upper low moves east out of the mountains of Southwest NC near Asheville. In fact on radar you can already see this process beginning to happen in the Western Piedmont of NC.
