I've found the future cast to be of no help to me since it races through a 48 hour time period in a matter of seconds and it's not possible to slow it down or pause it to see WHEN that rain is coming and how long it will last.

Watched 3 updates (6:17, 6:23, 6:29) as a cell over Roanoke ballooned and headed north up the valley...

6:17 had nothing on the radar within 5 miles of downtown. By 6:19 in my location in Bonsack was pouring heavily. The 6:23 update finally showed heavy rain but more towards downtown Roanoke and not really to my location. By 6:29 update it had the heavy part over Bonsack but in reality a little north of my location by now. So the radar / map sync is a little off in my opinion and with the 6 minute updates tough to see these intense flare ups cycling through correctly.
