Wow what a lot of comments,just goes to show how popular this blog really is.And just think of all the people who come here to read the comments but never post.If your a longtime lurker go ahead and post for the first time you will be welcomed by all.Still 39 has not dropped in 3 hours since i arrived home.I`m excited for all you snowlovers down there in Southwestern Va,even though i`m not gonna get any snow up here.

I think pretty cold for a day or 2..
then moderating,,
Is it too early to talk about the 25-27th time frame..?
a more west to east scenario,,but looks as if another
lurking…and another Canadian air delivery then as well.
Will see how the AO sets up.

Phew! I have been reading all of the comments today because I have been out volunteering at my granddaughter’s school. I knew there might be snow coming when I left for school this morning but the kids were wired today so I knew it was going to be a sure thing. The ladies in the school office were checking out other weather sites for information and I told them “No, No – go to Kevin Myatt’s weather blog for the most accurate information.”

Went to the store this afternoon for the milk and bread – already have eggs from our chickens and saw some sunshine and even felt warm temperatures. It got up to 55 here on Doppler Ridge. (Sorry that the Doppler is not working. Earlier the comment was that there were problems with the pedestal.)

Indian Valley John – my sincerest sympathies to you on the loss of your mother. Hope you make it back to VA before the snow.

Hokie Trax – the Man of the House is saying his knee and arm is aching – another snow sign.

Time for Kevin’s update so I will check back in later this evening.

After seeing DT’s FB post about this storm I’m waiting with bated breath for KM’s 7pm update. I notice the NWS took our amounts down here in Mont Co – it is now 1-3″ instead of 3-5″ – CURSES!!! Grrrrr. I hope that is an underestimate!

Don’t know what it meant exactly, but at around 2 this evening as I came back across the Knob, the temp hung on 42* at top to my house at 42*. That’s a 1000′ elevation change.

Thanks for the clarification. The TWLS were very excited at school today and so were the children (my 4 yr. old is so excited, no significant snows for playing in last year…) now, we just need it to start snowing! :0)

It’ll be more than a day, but I am thinking we’ll get periodic waves of cold rather than one solid blast that stays. Have had only time to briefly peer ahead though.
