Severe thunderstorm watch posted just east of Roanoke

A disturbance moving through this afternoon has prompted a severe thunderstorm watch for most of Virginia east of Roanoke, including Bedford and Franklin counties. Severe thunderstorms have been moving through Southside Virginia near Martinsville and Danville. Other storms are popping up here and there west of Roanoke. We're back to a more typical summer pattern of scattered afternoon thunderstorms, with just a bit more upper-level support for some storms to become severe.
